Late Night Links, Volume 2

It's that time again! I've been gathering links from far and wide (translation: twitter and my collection of RSS feeds), and I've chosen a few interesting ones to show you.

» Sequence Diagrams in JavaScript

This is a neat JavaScript library that can generate cool-looking UML sequence diagrams entirely from plain text. You've gotta try it out to see what makes it neat, because otherwise it's hard to get excited about UML. :-)

» Dynamic Placeholder Image Generators

There are plenty of web services for generating placeholder images on the fly, dummyimage.com is just the most recent one to cross my feed. I've also seen a Kitten Generator and a Baconator.

These image generators, when combined with CSS frameworks like Foundation and Bootstrap, can be awesomely useful for rapidly prototyping websites & layout changes.

» shit for making websites.

Despite the somewhat crude name, this is a pretty neat blog of projects and technologies related to web application design and development.

» PHP the Right Way

I recommend this site all over the place. It's an awesome resource for modern best practices in PHP. While it's a little light on the "How To" area, it covers a lot of important topics. In fact, the "How To" lightness is a great source of ideas for blog posts, so it's a valuable resource in several ways.

Well, that's all for tonight. Thanks for checking in!
